● rhodamine nom féminin Nom générique de colorants rouges, apparentés à la fluorescéine.⇒RHODAMINE, subst. fém.CHIM. Matière colorante fluorescente, de couleur rouge, du groupe des phtaléines, utilisée pour teindre certains textiles. La matière colorante appelée rhodamine permet de préparer ainsi un très joli rose (COFFIGNIER, Manuel peintre, 1925, p. 41). On peut aussi citer, comme matière colorante fluorescente, l'éosine (...), les rhodamines (dérivés aminés de la fluorescéine) et le bleu de méthylène (Encyclop. Sc.
